Paradox Founder, Dwight Brooker whom also founded Chem-Mech Engineering Laboratories Inc., along with Nicholas Roussakis,  (whom is considered to be the father of the present day "Detonation Arrester Technology") a Chemical Engineer. co-invented this technology.
After 10 years of R&D and a technology license agreement with Enardo Manufacturing Co., the patent was eventually sold to Enardo by the Chem-Mech Shareholders. (Enardo was eventually sold to HMT & is now owned by Emerson Electric Co.).

Founder, Dwight Brooker invented this device to deal specifically with "reflective pressures" that were a concern with applications that may have an obstruction of some sort on the protected side of the flame arrester. It is bi-directional. This patent was sold to the Protectoseal Flame Arrester Company. It also has 2 other patent variations, US 7056114 & US 7390190

Anti-flashback burners

Patent Pending on our superior Anti-Flashback Burner used in Vapor Combustors (VCUs) A vapor combustion unit (VCU), sometimes referred to as an enclosed flare, is an enclosed combustion device (ECD) used for the destruction of vapors from various services including bulk liquid storage tanks, barges, ships, rail cars and trucks.
This product was developed and tested at the request of VCU manufacturers that reported failures leading explosions when the had been using other manufactures "Anti-Flash back burners. After thorough testing revealed numerous design and quality issues with the current crimp ribbon devices that under reduced flow rates would fail within 10 minutes. Our design under the same identical conditions would last more than 1 hour with a continuous burning of gasoline vapor, lead to our filing a patent and developing 3", 4" 6" 8" & 10"  Anti-Flashback Burners.
Test data showing competitor burn performance comparison will be posted soon. For information email: lab@paradoxintellectual.com

With the move towards alternative energy sources, hydrogen came into play. Hydrogen is extremely difficult to arrester in any application. Previously to this invention liquid seal type arresters were the only alternative and liquid seals come with their own list of maintenance issues.
This invention can not only stop a detonation with hydrogen and air but has been successfully tested with 40% oxygen.
